Surrounding

Les Arques is an even pure French, small car-free village, where tranquillity dominates.
Walking around the church there are several images of artist Ossip Zadkine to see.
In the Netherlands the image ‘ the devastated city ‘ is in Rotterdam, this has also been made by him.
He has in Les Arques Lived and worked.
Zadkine lived here with nature, in this beautiful piece of France and found its inspiration.
There is a beautiful, small museum with a collection of his works, which is open almost daily for visitors.

Near Les Arques are many sights worth seeing such as the places Cahors, Rocamadour, Saint-Cirq-Lapopie and also museums, churches, caves, chateaus and more.
Of course there is on many places beautiful views and flows the river Lot right through this region.
Almost daily there is a market somewhere and in the summer there are many festivities such as vide Attics (Flea markets), festivals and evening markets where local (farmers) businesses sell food and eat at long tables on the spot.
(TIP: If you are going to visit an evening market , bring your own plate, cutlery and (wine) glasses). We can lend it, no problem.
A day more the tourist feeling? Within half an hour you are in the middle of the Dordogne and you can find little towns such as Sarlat and Belvès to visit.
Canoeing is also part of the possibilities.

Looking for peace and nature? You’re here also in the right place.
The Lot is still a quiet area, especially compared to eg. The Dordogne.
Nature is still untouched in the Lot and the region is known for its pure air.

We have packed lunches to order on the way.
We can arrange bike rental, both sports bikes and electric bikes.
